Do Food Coloring Dyes Cause Hyperactivity in Children?

This blog post takes a look at the effect food coloring dyes like Red dye 40 have on hyperactivity in children. Other food coloring that may have a negative impact on behavior include Yellow 5, Yellow 6, and Blue 1.

Foods with these added colors must have a warning label in the UK. In the United States, the FDA has not yet found conclusive evidence of the link between behaviors and food coloring dyes.
